New five-level active neutral point clamped converter

2013 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition, 2013
Multilevel converters are a proven solution for medium voltage and high power applications including renewable energy conversion. Developing 6.6 kV converters is a key goal for the wind turbines industry. Considering the voltage rating of commercially available semiconductors, five-level converters are necessary to reach 6.6 kV.

1 kW PFC converter with compound active-clamping

IEEE 34th Annual Conference on Power Electronics Specialist, 2003. PESC '03., 2004
A PFC converter employing compound active clamping technique is proposed. It can effectively reduce the loss caused by diode reverse recovery. Both the main switch and the auxiliary switch can achieve soft-switching (ZVS) under certain conditions. The parasitic oscillation caused by the parasitic capacitance of the boost diode is eliminated.

Clamping voltage control strategy for the Actively Clamped Resonant DC-link inverter

IECON 2012 - 38th Annual Conference on IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2012
The efficiency and life expectancy of PV grid-tie micro-inverter is of critical effect to its performance. The Actively Clamped Resonant DC-link Inverter has remarkable features of simple structure and high efficiency with only one auxiliary switch. The short-circuit control is the traditional clamp circuit control strategy.

Effect of clamp capacitor on the stability of active-clamp DC-DC converters

PESC 98 Record. 29th Annual IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference (Cat. No.98CH36196), 2002
This paper discusses the effect of an active-clamp circuit on the dynamic characteristics of a basic converter topology such as a buck-boost power converter. The buck-boost converter has instability problems such as a jumping phenomenon and an oscillation of the output voltage. Recently, the authors have found an unstable phenomenon due to inserting an

Interleaved PWM active-clamping buck-type converter

The 2010 International Power Electronics Conference - ECCE ASIA -, 2010
An interleaved pulse-width modulation (PWM) zero voltage switching (ZVS) converter is presented in this paper. Two converter modules with interleaved PWM scheme are used in the proposed circuit to achieve load current sharing and reduce the ripple currents on the input and output capacitors such that the size of the output choke and capacitor are ...
