Distributed Active Objects -- A Systemic Approach to Distributed Mobile Applications

2011 Eighth IEEE International Conference and Workshops on Engineering of Autonomic and Autonomous Systems, 2011
Designing cyber-physical systems (CPS) requires consideration of interactions between several computing and non-computing elements and, thus, consideration of concurrency of actions. While concurrency alone is a complexity-introducing and error-prone concept, adding awareness of real time, real space and/or mobility makes things worse: It prohibits to ...

Digital model of a distribution management system for the optimal operation of active distribution systems

IET Conference Publications, 2008
The growing interest on environmental issues and the increasing cost of fossil fuels have determined the conditions for high shares of Distributed Generation in the distribution system. Nowadays distribution networks are approaching a critical point whereby the connection of DG will require an active approach.

DISTRIBUTED ANECHOIC SYSTEM USING ELECTRICALLY ACTIVE FLUID

International Journal of Modern Physics B, 1992
A novel application of electrorheological fluid as a potential candidate for externally controllable anechoic material is discussed. The mechanism postulated is a resonant interaction of the incident compressional waves with the subsonic shear modes of the system. The energy dissipation is expected due to the existence of a loss modulus of the system.

Stochastic economic sizing and placement of renewable integrated energy system with combined hydrogen and power technology in the active distribution network

Scientific Reports
The current study concentrates on the planning (sitting and sizing) of a renewable integrated energy system that incorporates power-to-hydrogen (P2H) and hydrogen-to-power (H2P) technologies within an active distribution network. This is expressed in the

Model reference active optimal distributed tracking system for the linear distributed parameter systems

Proceedings of 1994 American Control Conference - ACC '94, 2005
This paper presents a technique for designing an active optimal tracking system for control of a linear distributed parameter process for applications where precise tracking of the commanded trajectories or a reference model is required. Its dynamic performance is quite satisfactory where the boundary conditions are either unpredictable or the primary ...

Market-oriented analysis for active distribution systems

IET Conference Publications, 2009
Distribution networks are today the place where demand and offer are physically located and meet. Offer comes from Generation companies, through distributed generation, while demand is usually represented by simple users. Distribution company both buy and sell energy so they implement both sides. The EU promotes the free market and the renewable energy

Distributing Control Systems Using Active Rules 1

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1999
Abstract Real-time control systems are often distributed, with complex data sharing requirements. A method is proposed using a distributed real-time database, extended with active rules that react to changes in the system. This database is fully replicated and nodes communicate using only the database distribution facilities.
