Resilience-oriented intentional islanding of reconfigurable distribution power systems

open access: yesJournal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy, 2019
Participation of distributed energy resources in the load restoration procedure, known as intentional islanding, can significantly improve the distribution system reliability.

Cyber-Physical Risk Evolution Analysis of Active Distribution Network under Feeder Control Error

open access: yesZhongguo dianli, 2021
In the active distribution network cyber-physical system exists a strong coupling relationship between the cyber system and the physical grid. Under the complex cyber-physical interaction, the cyber system anomalies or failures will directly affect and ...

Valence-quark distributions in the pion [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
We calculate the pion's valence-quark momentum-fraction probability distribution using a Dyson-Schwinger equation model. Valence-quarks with an active mass of 0.30 GeV carry 71% of the pion's momentum at a resolving scale q_0=0.54 GeV = 1/(0.37 fm).

Cooperative Planning of Active Distribution System With Renewable Energy Sources and Energy Storage Systems

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
In this paper, a multi-objective, multi-level model is proposed for active distribution system expansion planning with high-penetration renewable energy sources (RESs) and energy storage systems (ESSs).

Crystallization of self-propelled hard-discs : a new scenario

open access: yes, 2016
We experimentally study the crystallization of a monolayer of vibrated discs with a built-in polar asymmetry, a model system of active liquids, and contrast it with that of vibrated isotropic discs.

Active Contamination Detection in Water-Distribution Systems [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Water Resources Planning and Management, 2020
AbstractIn this paper, we propose a novel methodology for altering the area monitored by water quality sensors in water distribution systems (WDS) when there is suspicion of a contamination event.

Active Distribution System Management: A Dual-Horizon Scheduling Framework for DSO/TSO Interface Under Uncertainty

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Smart Grid, 2017
Active distribution system management (ADSM) aims at optimally operating distribution network assets with a high penetration of distributed energy resources (DERs) while taking into account operational uncertainties, market constraints, and scheduled ...

Exact results for the Barabasi model of human dynamics

open access: yes, 2005
Human activity patterns display a bursty dynamics, with interevent times following a heavy tailed distribution. This behavior has been recently shown to be rooted in the fact that humans assign their active tasks different priorities, a process that can ...

Distributed Service Restoration of Active Electrical Distribution Systems using ADMM [PDF]

open access: yes2019 IEEE Power & Energy Society Innovative Smart Grid Technologies Conference (ISGT), 2019
An essential aspect that contributes to the resilience of radial electrical distribution systems (EDS) is the deployment of efficient and fast service restoration methods. In the presence of a permanent fault, the service restoration minimizes the amount of de-energized consumers by reducing the area that needs to be disconnected to isolate the faulty ...
