Which Fault Threatens Me Most? Bridging the Gap Between Geologic Data-Providers and Seismic Risk Practitioners

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science, 2021
The aim of the Fault2SHA European Seismological Commission Working Group Central Apennines laboratory is to enhance the use of geological data in fault-based seismic hazard and risk assessment and to promote synergies between data providers (earthquake ...

Active Fault‐Tolerant Control Based on the Fault of Electromagnetic Hybrid Active Suspension

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2021
In order to improve the ride comfort and handling stability of the vehicle and realize the recovery of vibration energy, an electromagnetic linear hybrid suspension actuator composed of linear motor and solenoid valve shock absorber is proposed. At the same time, a fault diagnosis and fault‐tolerant control strategy is designed to solve the system ...

Fault Determination due to Sinkhole Array on Lar Valley, Northeast of Tehran (Iran)

open access: yesActa Carsologica, 2007
The main objective of this paper is to present an approach to identify active faults in karstic enviroments. This is achieved by a releasing relationship between sinkholes or dolines formation, array and active faults mechanism.

A Setup for Active Fault Diagnosis [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 2006
A setup for active fault diagnosis (AFD) of parametric faults in dynamic systems is formulated in this note. It is shown that it is possible to use the same setup for both open loop systems, closed-loop systems based on a nominal feedback controller as well as for closed-loop systems based on a reconfigured feedback controller.

Slip distributions on active normal faults measured from LiDAR and field mapping of geomorphic offsets: an example from L'Aquila, Italy, and implications for modelling seismic moment release [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Surface slip distributions for an active normal fault in central Italy have been measured using terrestrial laser scanning (TLS), in order to assess the impact of changes in fault orientation and kinematics when modelling subsurface slip distributions ...

Interaction between transform faults and rift systems: a combined field and experimental approach

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science, 2016
We present a detailed field structural survey of the area of interaction between the active NW-striking transform Husavik-Flatey Fault (HFF) and the N-S Theystareykir Fissure Swarm (TFS), in North Iceland, integrated by analogue scaled models. Field data

On-Die Dynamic Remapping Cache: Strong and Independent Protection Against Intermittent Faults

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
As process scaling continues, DRAM is getting more vulnerable to errors. System companies and DRAM vendors have introduced ECC to protect DRAM against growing errors.

Constrained Active Fault Tolerant Control Based on Active Fault Diagnosis and Interpolation Optimization [PDF]

open access: yesEntropy, 2021
A new active fault tolerant control scheme based on active fault diagnosis is proposed to address the component/actuator faults for systems with state and input constraints. Firstly, the active fault diagnosis is composed of diagnostic observers, constant auxiliary signals, and separation hyperplanes, all of which are designed offline.

A novel architecture for active service management [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Future multiservice networks will be extremely large and complex. In this environment, Active Services will be needed to enable the rapid service evolution demanded by users. Active services also enable service management to be delegated to network users
