Prebiotic Ginseng polysaccharides (GP) alleviate mastitis through selective enrichment of gut L. murinus, which elevates its anti‐inflammatory metabolite deoxycholic acid (DCA). Circulating DCA engages mammary epithelial TGR5 receptors, triggering the cAMP–PKA pathway to suppress NF‐κB/NLRP3‐mediated inflammation.

Multiple Emission States in Active Galactic Nuclei
We present a test of the emission statistics of active galactic nuclei (AGN), probing the connection between red-noise temporal power spectra and multi-modal flux distributions known from observations.

ABSTRACT Purpose Phosphocreatine (PCr) is an essential marker of muscle metabolism, and accurate quantification of its (fs) and its exchange rate (ksw) is essential for diagnosing various muscular and neuromuscular diseases. Although chemical exchange saturation transfer (CEST) MRI can detect the saturation transfer effect from PCr, quantification of ...

Infrared spectroscopic diagnostics for Active Galactic Nuclei
Infrared spectroscopy in the mid- and far-infrared provides powerful diagnostics for studying the emission regions in active galaxies. The large variety of ionic fine structure lines can probe gas conditions in a variety of physical conditions, from ...

LINERs as Low-Luminosity Active Galactic Nuclei
Many nearby galaxies contain optical signatures of nuclear activity in the form of LINER nuclei. LINERs may be the weakest and most common manifestation of the quasar phenomenon.

A Low‐Power Radioisotope XRF Spectrometer for Detection of Light Elements on Planetary Missions
ABSTRACT Current X‐ray spectrometers for in situ geochemical analysis on planetary missions typically rely either on X‐ray tubes, which demand electrical power and add mass and thermal complexity, or on alpha particle X‐ray spectrometers (APXS) that use rare 244Cm$$ {}^{244}\mathrm{Cm} $$ sources, and come with severe concerns on radiation safety and ...

Abstract This article offers new perspectives on the relationship between elementary teaching, scientific expertise and the professionalization of the human sciences. Previous scholarship has demonstrated the ready existence of ‘amateur’ science societies in the nineteenth century where cross‐class exchanges were common.

Active Galactic Nuclei: present observations and prospects
INTEGRAL has made a very significant contribution to our understanding of the physics of AGN. We illustrate this progress by looking at the considerations that were made at the time of the selection of the INTEGRAL mission and discussing some ...
