A Small Pathbreaking Spacecraft: Giants of Space Research (Bernard Blake, Dieter Hovestadt, and Edward Stone)

open access: yesPerspectives of Earth and Space Scientists, Volume 6, Issue 1, December 2025.
Abstract The Solar, Anomalous, and Magnetospheric Explorer (SAMPEX) mission launched in July 1992 was the first NASA “Small Explorer” project. It had the goal to show how space missions could be developed much more rapidly than had become the situation in the 1980s and 1990s.

Extended Emission-line Region in a Poststarburst Galaxy Hosting Tidal Disruption Event AT2019qiz and Quasiperiodic Eruptions

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We present a comprehensive analysis of the extended emission-line region (EELR) in the host galaxy of the tidal disruption event (TDE) AT2019qiz, utilizing Very Large Telescope (VLT)/MUSE integral-field spectroscopy.

A History of UNAVCO: Four Decades of Advancing Geodesy

open access: yesPerspectives of Earth and Space Scientists, Volume 6, Issue 1, December 2025.
Abstract UNAVCO was a university‐governed consortium funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), with support from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the United States Geological Survey (USGS), to support geoscience research and education using geodesy.

Proton‐linked effects on the axial coordination in ferric and ferrous horse heart cytochrome c

open access: yesProtein Science, Volume 34, Issue 11, November 2025.
Abstract The effect of pH (between pH 7.0 and 0.0) on the spectroscopic properties of ferric and ferrous derivatives of horse heart cytochrome c (hhcytc‐Fe(III) and hhcytc‐Fe(II), respectively) in 1.0M phosphate buffer is reported. This study further deepens the investigation of spectroscopic properties of a heme‐protein to very low pH (i.e., pH ≈ 0 ...

A Reverberation Mapping Study of a Highly Variable Active Galactic Nucleus 6dFGS gJ022550.0-060145

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We use LCOGT observations (MJD 59434−59600) with a total exposure time of ≃50 hr and a median cadence of 0.5 day to measure the interband time delays (with respect to u ) in the g , r , and i continua of a highly variable active galactic nucleus (AGN ...

Spatiotemporal Variations in Surface Air 7Be Concentrations Over the Antarctic Regions of the Indian Sector

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, Volume 130, Issue 20, 28 October 2025.
Abstract This study examined spatiotemporal variations in Beryllium‐7 (7Be) concentrations measured in surface air in high‐latitude regions of the Indian sector of the Southern Ocean, including two Japanese coastal stations. The sites included Syowa Station (69°00′S, 39°35′E) and site S17 (69°02′S, 40°05′E) on the coastal Antarctic ice sheet ...

Microlensing and the structure of active galactic nucleus accretion disks

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 1991
Rapid variability has been reported in two of the four gravitationally lensed images of Q2237 + 0305, and this is attributed to microlensing caused by the intervening stars. The associated constraints on the source size and properties are studied and compared with a variety of stationary accretion disk models.
