Resolving a Candidate Dual Active Galactic Nucleus with ∼100 pc Separation in MCG-03-34-64

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We report the serendipitous multiwavelength discovery of a candidate dual black hole system with a separation of ∼100 pc, in the gas-rich luminous infrared galaxy MCG-03-34-64 ( z = 0.016).

Active Galactic Nucleus Activity in Giant, Low Surface Brightness Galaxies

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal, 1998
A search of large, H I–rich disk galaxies finds a significantly higher fraction of low-luminosity active galactic nucleus (AGN) signatures compared with other late-type galaxies. Approximately half the galaxies selected in this sample have AGN-like behavior in their cores; the rest have H II nuclei resulting from simple star formation.

The Atacama Cosmology Telescope: Systematic Transient Search of Single Observation Maps

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We conduct a systematic search for astrophysical transients using data from the Atacama Cosmology Telescope. The data were taken from 2017 to 2022 in three frequency bands spanning 77 to 277 GHz.

Star formation around active galactic nuclei [PDF]

open access: yes
Active galactic nuclei (Seyfert nuclei and their relatives) and intense star formation can both deliver substantial amounts of energy to the vicinity of a galactic nucleus.

Constraining Active Galactic Nucleus Jets with Spectrum and Core Shift: The Case of M87

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We analytically model stationary and axisymmetric active galactic nucleus jets, assuming energy conservation along each magnetic flux tube. Using very long baseline interferometry (VLBI) observations and published general relativistic magnetohydrodynamic
