The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Modelling battery energy storage systems for active network management—coordinated control design and validation

open access: yesIET Renewable Power Generation, 2021
Control of battery energy storage systems (BESS) for active network management (ANM) should be done in coordinated way considering management of different BESS components like battery cells and inverter interface concurrently.

XMILE:An XML-based approach for programmable networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
In this paper we describe an XML-based platform for dynamic active node policy updates. XML supports the definitionof specific policy languages, their extension to satisfy new needs and the management of deployed policies on differentactive nodes.

Consistent SDNs through Network State Fuzzing

open access: yes, 2019
The conventional wisdom is that a software-defined network (SDN) operates under the premise that the logically centralized control plane has an accurate representation of the actual data plane state.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Security-Constrained Day-Ahead Operational Planning for Flexible Hybrid AC/DC Distribution Networks

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2019
A new active network management framework is presented based on a multi-period optimal power flow problem that is bounded by security constraints at the distribution level for upholding the security of supply.

A multistage distribution network planning method considering distributed generation active management and demand response

open access: yesIET Renewable Power Generation, 2022
This paper proposes a multistage distribution network planning (DNP) method that considers multiple planning alternatives, the active management of distributed generation (DG) units and demand response in the context of active distribution networks (ADNs)

Characterizing the salivary RNA landscape to identify potential diagnostic, prognostic, and follow‐up biomarkers for breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.
