Fuzzy-Logic Based Active Queue Management Using Performance Metrics Mapping into Multi-Congestion Indicators

open access: yesCybernetics and Information Technologies, 2021
The congestion problem at the router buffer leads to serious consequences on network performance. Active Queue Management (AQM) has been developed to react to any possible congestion at the router buffer at an early stage.

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

Energy savings using an adaptive base station-to-relay station switching paradigm [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Applying a Base Station (BS) sleep approach during low traffic periods has recently been advocated as a strategy for reducing energy consumption in cellular networks. The complete switching off of certain BS however, can lead to coverage holes and severe

Patient‐specific pharmacogenomics demonstrates xCT as predictive therapeutic target in colon cancer with possible implications in tumor connectivity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study integrates transcriptomic profiling of matched tumor and healthy tissues from 32 colorectal cancer patients with functional validation in patient‐derived organoids, revealing dysregulated metabolic programs driven by overexpressed xCT (SLC7A11) and SLC3A2, identifying an oncogenic cystine/glutamate transporter signature linked to ...

CA-AQM: Channel-Aware Active Queue Management for Wireless Networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
In a wireless network, data transmission suffers from varied signal strengths and channel bit error rates. To ensure successful packet reception under different channel conditions, automatic bit rate control schemes are implemented to adjust the ...

Perspectives in educating molecular pathologists on liquid biopsy: Toward integrative, equitable, and decentralized precision oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Liquid biopsy enables minimally invasive, real‐time molecular profiling through analysis of circulating biomarkers in biological fluids. This Perspective highlights the importance of training pathologists through integrative educational programs, such as the European Masters in Molecular Pathology, to ensure effective and equitable implementation of ...

Performance Characterization of Random Proximity Sensor Networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
In this paper, we characterize the localization performance and connectivity of sensors networks consisting of binary proximity sensors using a random sensor management strategy. The sensors are deployed uniformly at random over an area, and to limit

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

An Application-Tailored MAC Protocol for Wireless Sensor Networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
We describe a data management framework suitable for wireless sensor networks that can be used to adapt the performance of a medium access control (MAC) protocol depending on the query injected into the network.
