ABSTRACT Background Ischemic stroke, a major cause of mortality and long‐term disability, results from the abrupt cessation of cerebral blood flow due to vascular occlusion or rupture. Icosapent Ethyl (EPA‐EE), approved for hypertriglyceridemia, has anti‐inflammatory and antithrombotic properties that may lessen ischemic damage.

Analysis of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients by Terahertz Spectroscopy

Spectra of solid state active pharmaceutical ingredients obtained by Terahertz (THz) Time Domain Spectrometer in terahertz region of electromagnetic spectrum are presented. Each sample showed unique spectral features in 10.0–90.0 cm−1 indicating the potential use of THz spectroscopy for identification and quantification of drugs.
