An active power bandpass filter
1978 IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference, 1978This paper describes a new approach to the realization of an active 60 hz bandpass power filter. The system uses power switching to minimize attenuation losses and negative feedback to obtain narrowband filtering with a high degree of attenuation, without using large inductors and capacitors.

Robust Repetitive Control Design for a Three-Phase Four Wire Shunt Active Power Filter
IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics, 2019This paper presents a discrete repetitive control technique for three-phase four wire (3P4W) shunt active power filter (SAPF). Generally, the control design for power electronics devices involves two control loops: slow acting outer voltage loop and fast

In this chapter, the hybrid active power filters are discussed. In Sect. 4.1, the development of hybrid active power filters (HAPFs) is initially presented. Then different hybrid active filter (HAPF) topologies have been compared and discussed in details in Sect. 4.2.

Active power filters: A review
IEE Proceedings - Electric Power Applications, 2000There has been considerable interest in the development and applications of active filters because of the increasing concern over power quality, at both distribution and consumer levels, and the need to control reactive power and voltage stability at transmission levels.

Synchronized active power filter
IEEE Compatibility in Power Electronics, 2005., 2005The aim of the paper is to demonstrate how to use a shunt active power filter to maintain invariable power of a supplying voltage source, even though the supplied load varies randomly. The Section 4.3 is specially related to this feature. The S. Fryze's definition of load current components is used as a basis for the construction of a family of active ...

IEEE transactions on industry applications, 2019
This paper proposes a fast repetitive control (FRC) scheme with harmonic correction loops for the three-phase three-wire shunt active power filter (APF) applied in weak power grid. The FRC scheme consists of a repetitive control loop which is designed in

Heterogeneous active power filter controller
2017 International Symposium ELMAR, 2017The paper describes the architecture of a shunt Active Power Filter (APF) controller composed of three components with different characteristics. Heterogeneous components correspond to the variety of tasks expected from the APF controller. Some of the tasks require real-time execution, some of the requirements are specific to the features of general ...

An alternative active power filter
Proceedings of International Conference on Power Electronics, Drives and Energy Systems for Industrial Growth, 2002In this paper, an active power filter module is described. The filter module is used for conditioning line current of a six-pulse static power converter. The proposed module performs two simultaneous duties: it minimizes the supply line current harmonics, generated by the power converter, and compensates the reactive fundamental component of the line ...

Single phase active power filter
Proceedings of the 12th IEEE Mediterranean Electrotechnical Conference (IEEE Cat. No.04CH37521), 2004Single phase active power filter (APF) with sliding mode control is analyzed mathematically and by simulation. An APF is power electronics device that is connected parallel to the grid and the load, with task to cancel the reactive and harmonic currents caused by nonlinear loads connected to the grid. Proposed solution is implemented on laboratory test

Predictive Current Control for an Active Power Filter With LCL-Filter
IEEE transactions on industrial electronics (1982. Print), 2018Voltage source inverter based active power filters are widely used for the compensation of harmonic currents, especially in industrial environments. Loads such as three-phase diode rectifiers, thyristor-based rectifiers or variable-speed drives can cause
