A multilevel voltage source cascade converter (ML-VSCC) using a carrier phase-shifted SPWM (CPS-SPWM) technique has been proposed. Compared with the traditional multi-level converter, this kind of converter utilizes fewer power switches and has a balance load, a good linearity between input and output and a perfect control feature.
