Multi-Criteria Evaluation and Benchmarking for Active Queue Management Methods: Open Issues, Challenges and Recommended Pathway Solutions

International Journal of Information Technology and Decision Making, 2019
The evaluation and benchmarking processes of active queue management (AQM) methods are complicated and challenging. Several evaluation criteria/metrics must be considered before an AQM method can yield satisfactory performance using specific metric(s ...

Hop-by-Hop Congestion Measurement and Practical Active Queue Management in NDN

Global Communications Conference, 2020
Content replication and name-based routing in Named Data Network (NDN) naturally lead to connectionless multi-source and multipath transmissions. Traditional congestion control designed for end-to-end connections cannot well fit this architecture ...

The Yellow active queue management algorithm

Computer Networks, 2005
A new rate-based active queue management (AQM) algorithm, called Yellow, is proposed in the paper. Yellow uses the load factor (link utilization) as a main merit to manage congestion. To improve congestion control performance, a queue control function (QCF) is introduced as a secondary merit.

The BLUE active queue management algorithms

IEEE/ACM Transactions on Networking, 2002
In order to stem the increasing packet loss rates caused by an exponential increase in network traffic, the IETF has been considering the deployment of active queue management techniques such as RED (random early detection) (see Floyd, S. and Jacobson, V., IEEE/ACM Trans. Networking, vol.1, p.397-413, 1993).

Internet Adaptive Active Queue Management Algorithm

2007 Chinese Control Conference, 2006
Based on the system of Internet congestion control, an adaptive network controller is established as active queue management (AQM) algorithm to adjust the congestion marked possibility at the links, whose parameters is auto-tuned by applying the minimization of an integral criterion for adapting the change of the network.

An adaptive active queue management algorithm

2013 3rd International Conference on Consumer Electronics, Communications and Networks, 2013
When we face the request of the massive users and the dynamic change of network, the existing active queue management mechanism can not satisfy the effectiveness, stability and robustness at the same time, thus we can't better control the congestion state of the network.
