On the performance limitation of active queue management (AQM)

2004 43rd IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (CDC) (IEEE Cat. No.04CH37601), 2004
Traffic properties relevant to active queue management (AQM) and the resulting pole/zero and Bode limitations are examined. ARX models of TCP are derived from data collected in a fixed "dumbbell" simulation environment. The pole dynamics at short time scales can be traced to the RTT, which serves as a confirmation of the relevance of the models.

Congestion Control Mechanism for Unresponsive Flows in Internet Through Active Queue Management System (AQM)

2021
In this paper, we would like to analyze different type of congestion control methods which are using active queue management (AQM) system. Nowadays, we need fast and secure transmission of large amount of data, through network resources. So we need congestion control, also it has an important role to play in it.

An active queue management (AQM) scheme based on modified Smith Predictor

2009 IEEE Intelligent Vehicles Symposium, 2009
Active queue management (AQM) at routers can effectively control the queue length while keeping high throughput of routers. In this paper, a new AQM algorithm called Hang algorithm based on a modified Smith predictor is proposed. Theoretic analysis and extensive simulation shows that the developed control scheme is effective in dealing with ...

Robust active queue management controller design for a stochastic TCP/AQM system

2009 International Conference on Networking, Sensing and Control, 2009
An efficient active queue management (AQM) controller for a class of stochastic TCP communication networks is proposed in this study. By applying the Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional approach and the linear matrix inequality (LMI) technique, a static-state-feedback controller (SSFC) capable of both achieving the desired queue size and guaranteeing ...

HF-AQM: An efficient active queue management scheme for wireless local area network environment

TENCON 2017 - 2017 IEEE Region 10 Conference, 2017
An Active Queue Management (AQM) is a proactive scheme that controls the network congestion by avoiding the congestion before it happened. When implementing AQM in wireless networks several contemporary issues must be considered, such as interference, collisions, multipath-fading, propagation distance, shadowing effects and route failure, and whether ...

Active Queue Management Based on Congestion Policing (CP-AQM)

2018
Buffers in switches or routers are used to achieve sufficiently high utilization of transmission resources but permanently filled buffers add excessive queuing delay to communication. Active queue management (AQM) accommodates infrequent traffic bursts but avoids a standing queue. Currently, many new AQM mechanisms are discussed in the IETF.

FD-AQM: Fairness-Aware Delay-Controlled Active Queue Management in 802.11s-Based Multi-Radio Multi-Channel Wireless Mesh Networks

IEEE Communications Letters, 2015
Several active queue management (AQM) schemes have been proposed to address the bufferbloat issue, a long network delay and performance degradation issue caused by excess buffering of packets in network nodes. The solutions proposed up to now, however, satisfy only a subset of the key network performance metrics, i.e., end-to-end throughput, throughput

Active queue management (AQM) for TCP/IP networks using discrete time sliding mode control (DSMC)

Proceedings of 2005 IEEE Conference on Control Applications, 2005. CCA 2005., 2005
In order to preserve quality of service (QoS) in a computer network, implementation of traffic engineering (TE) techniques is critical to meet congestion control. In this paper a systematic control strategy based on discrete time sliding mode control considering the dynamics of the window based TCP flow is proposed.
