Antiandrogenic activity of humic substances

Science of The Total Environment, 2012
For long, natural organic matter (NOM) composed mainly of humic substances (HS) were regarded as inert in the ecosystems with respect to their possible chemical interaction with exposed organisms. However recently, NOM have been shown to elicit various adverse effects generally attributed to synthetic xenobiotics, including estrogenic effects ...

Labeled substance P as a neuropeptide reporter substance for enzyme activity

Journal of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Analysis, 2020
Recently, we developed a bradykinin reporter assay and demonstrated the differing protease activity in Complex Regional Pain Syndrome patients vs. controls. In order to further characterize CRPS pathophysiology, the neuropeptide substance P was evaluated as possible reporter substance, here.

Antimicrobially active substances

Folia Microbiologica, 1970
The antimycotic activity of 41 quaternary ammonium compounds was studied. The spectrum of their effect was evaluated in eight microbial strains. Homologues, isomers or close analogues of Septonex, i.e. α-carbetoxypentadecyl-trimethylammonium bromide (XII) were found to be the most active.
