Analysis and Detection of Malicious Activity on DoH Traffic
2021 2nd Global Conference for Advancement in Technology (GCAT), 2021This paper discusses the systematic approach to analyze and detect DoH and non-DoH traffic, and further methods to catch malicious DoH over covert network traffic conditions. DNS over HTTPS methodology overcomes the vulnerabilities brought about in regular DNS requests and reinforces the data transmission, but equally important is detection and ...

Active traffic analysis attacks and countermeasures
2003 International Conference on Computer Networks and Mobile Computing, 2003. ICCNMC 2003., 2004To explore mission-critical information, an adversary using active traffic analysis attacks injects probing traffic into the victim network and analyzes the status of underlying payload traffic. Active traffic analysis attacks are easy to deploy and hence become a serious threat to mission critical applications.

Inferring users' online activities through traffic analysis
Proceedings of the fourth ACM conference on Wireless network security, 2011Traffic analysis may threaten user privacy, even if the traffic is encrypted. In this paper, we use IEEE 802.11 wireless local area networks (WLANs) as an example to show that inferring users' online activities accurately by traffic analysis without the administrator's privilege is possible during very short periods (e.g., a few seconds).

Statistical Analysis for the Traffic Police Activity: Nashville, Tennessee, USA
KIET Journal of Computing and Information Sciences, 2022Data Science is one of the fastest growing interdisciplinary field and has many applications in various disciplines. The actual motivation of data science came from John Tukey. In his seminal paper, in 1962, he presented the idea of data analysis which is now the field of data science. Several algorithms for data science related to statistical analysis

Detecting co-residency with active traffic analysis techniques
Proceedings of the 2012 ACM Workshop on Cloud computing security workshop, 2012Virtualization is the cornerstone of the developing third party compute industry, allowing cloud providers to instantiate multiple virtual machines (VMs) on a single set of physical resources. Customers utilize cloud resources alongside unknown and untrusted parties, creating the co-resident threat -- unless perfect isolation is provided by the virtual

Traffic Analysis Attack for Identifying Users’ Online Activities
IT Professional, 2019Traffic analysis is a serious threat over the network. An attacker can analyze network traffic patterns to infer packet's content, even though it is encrypted. This article demonstrates a traffic analysis attack that exploits vulnerabilities in encrypted smartphone communications to infer the web pages being visited by a user.

Streaming Botnet traffic analysis using bio-inspired active learning
NOMS 2018 - 2018 IEEE/IFIP Network Operations and Management Symposium, 2018Non-stationary network traffic, together with stealth occurrences of malicious behaviors, make analyzing network traffic challenging. In this research, a machine learning framework is used to incrementally learn the network behavior and adapt to the changes in the traffic.

Analysis of Air Traffic Conflict Geometry on Brain Activity
2018 4th International Conference on Science and Technology (ICST), 2018This research was conducted to empirically examine the effects of conflict geometry on air traffic controllers (ATCOs)’ brain activity. Fifteen participants performed air traffic control (ATC) tasks to resolve six different conflict geometry scenarios including lateral conflict (i.e.

Semantic-based traffic video retrieval using activity pattern analysis
2004 International Conference on Image Processing, 2004. ICIP '04., 2005A semantic based retrieval framework for traffic video sequences is proposed. In order to estimate the low-level motion data, a cluster tracking algorithm is developed. A novel hierarchical self-organizing map is applied to learn the activity patterns.

Traffic Jam Prediction Based on Analysis of Residents Spatial Activities
2020 International Conference on Computer Information and Big Data Applications (CIBDA), 2020The prediction of urban traffic congestion has always been one of the important contents in the research of intelligent transportation systems. The difficulty in predicting urban traffic congestion is that urban traffic operation is essentially a collection of spatial activity planning for residents under certain conditions. The huge group of residents
