An ontology for active and passive aerial drone threat automatic plan recognition

2016 IEEE National Aerospace and Electronics Conference (NAECON) and Ohio Innovation Summit (OIS), 2016
This paper initiates a discussion on the design of terms, features, and descriptors that would support machine learning for automated plan recognition of drone and drone swarms engaged in threatening activity. A few prototype aerial missions for drones are discussed and semantic markers, such as distance and line of sight to potential targets, mirrored

Plan-Similarity Based Heuristics for Goal Recognition

2022 IEEE International Conference on Pervasive Computing and Communications Workshops and other Affiliated Events (PerCom Workshops), 2022
Plan and goal recognition are important tasks in constructing smart assistants and can be used to support activity recognition. However, all current approaches have the disadvantage of either being slow and inefficient regarding both online computation ...

Efficient context free parsing of multi-agent activities for team and plan recognition

Adaptive Agents and Multi-Agent Systems, 2012
We extend a recent formalization of multi-agent plan recognition (MAPR), to accommodate compact multi-agent plan libraries in the form of context free grammars (CFG), incomplete plan executions, and uncertainty in the observation trace.

Combining Activity Recognition and AI Planning for Energy-Saving Offices

2013 IEEE 10th International Conference on Ubiquitous Intelligence and Computing and 2013 IEEE 10th International Conference on Autonomic and Trusted Computing, 2013
Energy-saving offices require autonomous and optimised control of integrated devices and appliances with the objective of saving energy while the occupant comfort and productivity are preserved. We propose an approach that analyses and controls an office space and accounts for the objectives of energy-saving offices.

Autonomous active recognition and unfolding of clothes using random decision forests and probabilistic planning

2014 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA), 2014
We present a novel approach to the problem of autonomously recognizing and unfolding articles of clothing using a dual manipulator. The problem consists of grasping an article from a random point, recognizing it and then bringing it into an unfolded state.

Model-based active object recognition using MRF matching and sensor planning

1997
This paper presents an active object recognition algorithm using MAP-MRF matching and sensor planning strategy. The matching between the sensed and model object is based on surface properties. A new measure of surface distinguishability is defined for sensor planning. MAP-MRF framework is used for generating matching label set.

Active acquisition of user models: Implications for decision-theoretic dialog planning and plan recognition

User Modeling and User-Adapted Interaction, 1991
This article investigates the implications ofactive user model acquisition upon plan recognition, domain planning, and dialog planning in dialog architectures. A dialog system performs active user model acquisition by querying the user during the course of the dialog. Existing systems employ passive strategies that rely on inferences drawn from passive

Using Intention Recognition in a Simulation Platform to Assess Physical Activity Levels of an Office Building

Adaptive Agents and Multi-Agent Systems, 2017
Designing a building to be conducive to physical activity can significantly contribute to reducing sedentary behavior in a workplace. We aim to develop a game-based simulation platform that provides an intuitive, interactive tool to assess physical ...
