Automated Annotation of Sensor data for Activity Recognition using Deep Learning

open access: yes, 2017
Within this work-in-progress, we aim to automate the annotation of Sensor data for generating training data for Activity Recognition (AR) of multiple persons. Usually, the activities are executed and recorded from test persons under the supervision of an

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Activity Recognition of Assembly Tasks Using Body-Worn Microphones and Accelerometers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
In order to provide relevant information to mobile users, such as workers engaging in the manual tasks of maintenance and assembly, a wearable computer requires information about the user's specific activities.

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Exploring Semi-Supervised Methods for Labeling Support in Multimodal Datasets

open access: yesSensors, 2018
Working with multimodal datasets is a challenging task as it requires annotations which often are time consuming and difficult to acquire. This includes in particular video recordings which often need to be watched as a whole before they can be labeled ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Bilinear programming for human activity recognition with unknown MRF graphs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Markov Random Fields (MRFs) have been successfully applied to human activity modelling, largely due to their ability to model complex dependencies and deal with local uncertainty.
