The regulation of space activities and the space environment
2015Tl1e international legal regulation of outer space has e!Jolved itt response to the rapidly expanding activities involving the exploration and use of outer space, beginning at the height of the cold war era. Space law is now an important part of public intemational law, incorporating significant developments in both space tecltnofogy and international ...

Ca++ activity in the endolymphatic space
Archives of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology, 1986We measured Ca++ activity in the different parts of the endolymphatic space by using a double-barrelled electrode with calcium liquid ionic exchanger. In the region of the endolymphatic sac, Ca++ activity (4.7 X 10(-4) M) was much higher than in the cochlear duct (2.7 X 10(-5) M) and semicircular canal (2.6 X 10(-4) M). These findings suggest that Ca++

Social Network, Activity Space, Sentiment, and Evacuation: What Can Social Media Tell Us?
Annals of the American Association of Geographers, 2019Hurricanes are one of the most common natural hazards in the United States. To reduce fatalities and economic losses, coastal states and counties take protective actions, including sheltering in place and evacuation away from the coast.

THE KEY FACTORS FOR A LEARNING SPACE - TIME, SPACE AND ACTIVITY
EDULEARN Proceedings, 2018Technology is a valuable tool in education both to increase access to knowledge and to promote learning. On the one hand, the ability of ICTs to centralize and organize large amounts of knowledge and, on the other hand, the students' familiarization with information networks and the internet, aims to interconnect students in networks and learning ...

Abstract Measures for the safety of space activities have to be elaborated by the scientific community. They should include principles for collision avoidance, possibly in the form of traffic separation schemes. A reduction of collision probabilities could be achieved by systematic removal of inactive satellites, by establishing disposal orbital ...

Active Optics for Space Telescopes
Optical Design and Fabrication 2019 (Freeform, OFT), 2019Active optics has been proposed for application to space telescopes since the mid 1960s since it can help to relax manufacturing tolerances while guaranteeing diffraction-limited image quality, correct for thermal gradients and any errors due to launch loads.
