Frozen Differential Scattering in Reconfigurable Complex Media

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
A localized perturbation universally results in a rank‐one update of the scattering matrix of any complex medium. The resulting differential output wavefront is “frozen”: its spatial pattern is fixed (agnostic to the input wavefront). Experiments with a programmable‐metasurface‐parametrized wireless link validate frozen differential scattering and ...

Computational Communication Science| Because Technology Matters: Theorizing Interdependencies in Computational Communication Science With Actor–Network Theory

open access: yesInternational Journal of Communication, 2019
Technology heavily drives communication research in the computational turn, yet our research programs seldom reflect this heightened relevance of technology in both everyday life and our own scientific work.

Functional Connectivity to the Cerebellum and Resting‐State Networks Predict Earlier Improvement of Dystonia Following Globus Pallidus Internus‐Deep Brain Stimulation (GPi‐DBS)

open access: yesMovement Disorders, EarlyView.
Early improvement of dystonia after globus pallidus internus‐deep brain stimulation (GPi‐DBS) is associated with stimulation of the globus pallidus externus‐subthalamic nucleus (GPe‐STN) fibers and the lenticular fasciculus. Functional connectivity to the cerebellar cortex and the limbic and default mode networks predict early improvement of symptoms ...

Assessing the role of the research in the transition to organic farming by using the Actor Network Theory: lessons from two case studies in France and Bulgaria [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
This paper explores the potential of Actor Network Theory (ANT) in understanding how the process of interaction and translation between human and non-human actors contribute to the development, adoption and diffusion of science-based innovations linked ...

Frugivory‐mediated trophic cascades: how apex predators can shape the recruitment of a fleshy‐fruited tree

open access: yesOikos, EarlyView.
The recovery of large carnivores offers unique opportunities to study their cascading impacts on plant population dynamics. Medium‐sized carnivores, both prey and seed dispersers, are suppressed by apex predators, indirectly increasing seed‐eating rodent's populations and potentially altering plant establishment.

From maps to mandates: Multitemporal vegetation cover analysis as a tool to evaluate environmental judicial decisions

open access: yesPeople and Nature, EarlyView.
Abstract This study examines the use of multitemporal vegetation cover analysis as a tool to assess the ecological effectiveness of judicial decisions that recognize the rights of nature, using Colombia's 2016 T‐622 decision on the Atrato River as a case study.

Impact of Organic and Inorganic Fillers on the Performance of Ternary Biodegradable Poly(Butylene Succinate‐Co‐Butylene Adipate), Poly(Butylene Adipate‐Co‐Terephthalate), and Poly(3‐Hydroxybutyrate‐Co‐3‐Hydroxyvalerate) Blends

open access: yesPolymer Composites, EarlyView.
Development of a ternary blend composite based on PBAT/PBSA/PHVB with improved mechanical properties. ABSTRACT This study explores a ternary biodegradable blend of bio‐based poly(butylene succinate‐co‐adipate) (bio‐PBSA), poly(butylene adipate terephthalate) (PBAT), and poly(3‐hydroxybutyrate‐co‐3‐hydroxyvalerate) (PHBV).
