Carillion's Fall: Accounting for Construction Projects*
ABSTRACT This case describes the circumstances surrounding the fall of Carillion plc, a large UK construction company. Carillion issued a series of write‐downs that hurt investor confidence and led to debt covenant violations. Students assume the role of a fictional investor, Holly Chapman, who has lost money investing in Carillion.

Optimal insurance design under limited liability
Abstract We study optimal demand for insurance in a classical expected utility setting where the insured party has limited liability and has access to three different types of progressively more restrictive contracts. At one end, with no restrictions on the indemnity schedule, it is optimal to fully insure certain losses while leaving others uninsured.
