Repeated electroacupuncture induced analgesic tolerance and increased Plin4 expression, particularly in spinal dorsal horn neurons. Intrathecal Plin4 knockdown delayed tolerance development and increased pain threshold, while Plin4 expression was positively associated with lipid droplet formation in N2a cells. ABSTRACT Background Electroacupuncture (EA)

Abstract Myocardial ischemia–reperfusion (MI/R)‐induced lung injury is a major pulmonary complication after cardiac surgery. We aimed to verify this phenomenon in rats and to investigate whether electroacupuncture (EA) pretreatment at bilateral Feishu (BL13) and Zusanli (ST36) acupoints (once daily for 3 days) exerts protective effects.

Electroacupuncture (EA) ameliorates learning and memory function in 5×FAD mice by regulating the brain glucose metabolic network. This neuroprotective effect is closely related to enhancing neuronal energy utilization via the IGF1/IGF1R signaling pathway.

ABSTRACT Background Stroke frequently causes spasticity and motor impairment, reducing independence. Non‐invasive treatments like radial extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT) and acupoint‐based transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (Acu‐TENS) show potential, but direct comparisons with physiotherapy are limited.

Subcutaneous Neuromodulation Activates Central Pain‐Suppression Pathways for Analgesia
Subcutaneous neuromodulation (SMS), as a novel neuromodulatory approach different from traditional thermal or electrical methods, modulates peripheral‐to‐central neural signaling and induces rapid, opioid‐independent analgesia. SMS exerts strong analgesic effects by activating the IL to NAc pathway, a key neural circuit involved in top‐down pain ...

Mechanisms of Acupuncture on the Neurovascular Unit in Migraine: A Narrative Review
ABSTRACT Objective The neurovascular unit (NVU) is a core structural and functional entity involved in migraine pathogenesis. Acupuncture may exert therapeutic effects by protecting NVU integrity. This narrative review aims to summarize the current evidence on the mechanisms by which acupuncture protects the NVU in migraine.
