EEG Functional Connectivity Associated With Antidepressant Response to Transcutaneous Electrical Cranial‐Auricular Acupoint Stimulation

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 32, Issue 7, July 2026.
(A) Fifty MDD patients underwent an 8‐week TECAS treatment and were then classified into responders and nonresponders according to their clinical outcomes. (B) Resting‐state EEG was acquired from all participants and subsequently preprocessed. (C) Functional connectivity analysis revealed that TECAS modulates frontoparietal θ‐band connectivity in MDD ...

The ENKRVM→SRD Projection Constitutes a Functionally Specific Circuit for Bidirectional Pain Modulation

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 32, Issue 7, July 2026.
Enkephalinergic neurons in the rostral ventromedial medulla form a functionally selective descending inhibitory microcircuit with the nucleus reticularis dorsalis that bidirectionally regulates nociception without engaging affective or motor components.

High‐Carbohydrate Diet Enhances Peripheral Nerve Regeneration via Hemoglobin Upregulation in Schwann Cells

open access: yesFood Frontiers, Volume 7, Issue 4, July 2026.
A short‐term high‐carbohydrate diet enhances peripheral nerve regeneration more effectively than high‐protein or high‐fat diets by upregulating hemoglobin genes in Schwann cells. Increased hemoglobin promotes Schwann cell proliferation and migration, facilitating nerve repair.

Neural Correlates of Explicit Outcome Expectation Effects: An Activation Likelihood Estimation Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesHuman Brain Mapping, Volume 47, Issue 10, July 2026.
This ALE meta‐analysis of brain imaging studies published between 2014 and 2025 identified the caudate nucleus/lentiform nucleus as a core neural substrate of explicit outcome expectation effects, with the red nucleus emerging as an additional significant cluster.

Spatial Transcriptomic Atlas Reveals That Forkhead Box O3‐Mediated Mitochondrial Dynamics Imbalance Drives Premature Ovarian Insufficiency in Mice

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 25, Issue 7, July 2026.
This study constructed a spatial transcriptomic atlas of POI mouse ovaries and confirmed that decreased FOXO3 phosphorylation triggers mitochondrial dynamic disorder, granulosa cell senescence and ovarian dysfunction. FOXO3‐mitochondrial axis is a shared core mechanism in both drug‐induced POI and physiological ovarian aging, offering promising ...
