ABSTRACT Background Non‐surgical treatment of appendicitis carries the risk of missed tumors, such as appendiceal neuroendocrine neoplasms (ANEN), the most common appendiceal tumor. The aim of this study is to identify radiological features of ANEN that will distinguish them from simple acute appendicitis. Methods Data were extracted from a database of

Acute triangulations of polyhedra and R^n [PDF]
We study the problem of acute triangulations of convex polyhedra and the space R^n. Here an acute triangulation is a triangulation into simplices whose dihedral angles are acute. We prove that acute triangulations of the n-cube do not exist for n>=4. Further, we prove that acute triangulations of the space R^n do not exist for n>= 5.

Acute Triangulation of Constant Curvature Polygonal Complexes [PDF]
We prove that every 2-dimensional polygonal complex, where each polygon is given a constant curvature metric and belongs to one of finitely many isometry classes can be triangulated using only acute simplices. There is no requirement on the complex to be finite or even locally finite.

Living with acuteness in chronic illness: The temporal underpinnings of endometriosis
Abstract This article explores how acuteness is experienced by people with endometriosis in Finland. Drawing on in‐depth interviews as well as anonymous written endometriosis stories, we trace instances when the sense of chronicity and cyclicality of endometriosis is disrupted by a possibility of risk to life. These instances include when endometriosis

Uncertainty Tolerance (UT) describes how individuals experience and respond to uncertainty, with lower UT associated with negative outcomes, including burnout. Periods of career transition can be particularly uncertain, but there is little research into newly qualified ...
