Bacteriuria in children with acute febrile illnesses

The urine of 82 acutely ill febrile children was examined microscopically and by quantitative urine culture for evidence of infection. The clinical diagnosis of urinary tract infection was confirmed in one patient; no unsuspected infections were discovered.
