Etiologies of acute undifferentiated febrile illness in Thailand.
Journal of the Medical Association of Thailand = Chotmaihet thangphaet, 2004Acute pyrexia of unknown origin (Acute PUO) was reported to affect approximately 200,000-400,000 patients each year reported by the national Annual Epidemiological Surveillance Report. The patients usually present with fever of less than two-week duration and non-specific symptoms such as malaise, myalgia, headache and loss of appetite.

Thiamine-responsive acute cerebellar ataxia following febrile illness.
The Central African journal of medicine, 1994A case of post-pyrexial acute cerebellar ataxia in a 14 year old girl is presented and the available literature is reviewed. The therapeutic efficacy of thiamine hydrochloride observed in this patient lends some support to the view that acute thiamine depletion may be the pathogenetic mechanism for post-pyrexial acute cerebellar ataxia.
