Multimodal Imaging in Acute Macular Neuroretinopathy
Journal of Neuro-Ophthalmology, 2020Abstract: A 44-year-old woman noticed bilateral irregular scotomata associated with photopsias of 6-month duration. Ophthalmoscopic examination demonstrated multiple bilateral, pericentral, hypopigmented, petaloid, macular lesions evident on Amsler grid associated with paracentral hyperreflective lesions on optical coherence tomography in the

ACUTE MACULAR NEURORETINOPATHY FOLLOWING INTRAVENOUS SYMPATHOMIMETICS
Retina, 1989Three young women developed acute macular neuroretinopathy with persistent paracentral scotomas following acute hypertension caused by intravenous sympathomimetics. The temporal relationship of the acute onset of symptoms suggests either acute hypertension or a direct retinal effect of sympathomimetics as the cause of the retinal changes.

Paracentral Acute Middle Maculopathy and Acute Macular Neuroretinopathy
Ophthalmic Surgery, Lasers and Imaging Retina, 2013Type 1 acute macular neuroretinopathy (AMN), also known as paracentral acute middle maculopathy (PAMM), is a novel form of AMN in which spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) demonstrates a characteristic hyper-reflective band-like lesion at the level of the inner nuclear layer.

[Acute macular neuroretinopathy].
Archivos de la Sociedad Espanola de Oftalmologia, 2007A 22-year-old woman complained of symptoms consistent with the sudden onset of central scotomas in both eyes after a flu-like illness. The typical reddish brown macular lesions of acute macular neuroretinopathy were evident in the parafoveal area of both eyes. Visual field examination revealed central scotomas in both eyes that corresponded in location

Acute macular neuroretinopathy misdiagnosed as optic neuritis
International Ophthalmology, 2014This study aims to report a case of acute macular neuroretinopathy (AMN) misdiagnosed as optic neuritis. The methods include review of the clinical, photographic, angiographic, visual field, infrared imaging, and optical coherence tomography records of a patient with AMN. A 30-year-old female who was initially diagnosed with optic neuritis and at first

Acute macular neuroretinopathy associated with migraine
Archivos de la Sociedad Española de Oftalmología (English Edition)Acute macular neuroretinopathy (AMN) is an uncommon entity that affects the outer layer of the retina and usually presents itself as an acute paracentral scotoma. It is mostly seen in young women and the course is usually self-limited. The diagnosis is established by a multimodal image, with optical coherence tomography (OCT) being the preferred ...

Acute Macular Neuroretinopathy Associated With Chikungunya Fever
Ophthalmic Surgery, Lasers and Imaging Retina, 2016A 47-year-old man with recent travel to the Caribbean was admitted with acute febrileillness associated with arthralgia and skin rash followed by sudden onset of bilateral visual field defects. Funduscopy revealed subtle bilateral paracentral dark lesions nasal to the fovea best seen on near infrared imaging as hyporeflective, wedge-shaped, paracentral

OUTER RETINAL ABNORMALITIES IN ACUTE MACULAR NEURORETINOPATHY
Retina, 2011To investigate the spectral-domain optical coherence tomography findings in four cases of acute macular neuroretinopathy and identify features that may differentiate acute macular neuroretinopathy from similar conditions in the acute zonal occult outer retinopathy complex.Patients with acute macular neuroretinopathy underwent complete periodic ...
