A 58-year-old man ingested 900 mg prenylamine with the intention of suicide. Several hours later he developed a gastrointestinal reaction, considerable weakness, vertigo, and recurrent syncope. ECG records revealed sinus bradycardia with numerous premature nodal and auricular beats and disturbances in depolarization and polarization of ventricles.

Fluoride poisoning is a potentially severe environmental hazard for children. A case of fluoride poisoning is presented which was manifested by severe hypocalcemia, ventricular arrhythymias, and respiratory failure. Treatment of this poisoning, including peritoneal dialysis, is discussed.
