Long‐Term Quality of Life After Removal of Batteries and Magnets From the Nose in Children
The Laryngoscope, EarlyView.Nasal button batteries and magnets can cause severe mucosal injury, most commonly erosion (56.4%), septal perforation (20.5%), and tissue necrosis (12.8%). At long‐term follow‐up, most complications had resolved, while prolonged foreign body retention and symptoms at presentation were significantly associated with persistent complications.
