Backround: Subdural hematomas are clinically important in that they occur commonly in elderly trauma patients and cause a high mortality. Since interhemispheric subdural hematoma is rare among cases of subdural hematoma and is a diagnosis that can be ...

Extradural hematoma: comparative radiological study between, comatous and noncomatous patients [PDF]
A series of 129 patients harbouring extradural hematomas was analysed considering the neurological state immediately before operation as the most consistent variable. Seventy eight patients were considered to be comatous (Group I) and 51 were noncomatous.

Survival Trends After Surgery for Acute Subdural Hematoma in Adults Over a 20-year Period
Objective: We sought to determine 30-day survival trends and prognostic factors following surgery for acute subdural hematomas (ASDHs) in England and Wales over a 20-year period. Summary of Background Data: ASDHs are still considered the most lethal type

Acute triangulations of polyhedra and R^n [PDF]
We study the problem of acute triangulations of convex polyhedra and the space R^n. Here an acute triangulation is a triangulation into simplices whose dihedral angles are acute. We prove that acute triangulations of the n-cube do not exist for n>=4. Further, we prove that acute triangulations of the space R^n do not exist for n>= 5.

Management of Traumatic Brain Injury: Application of Guidelines for Diagnostics and Therapy [PDF]
In the past years several recommendations have been published concerning the diagnostic work-up and treatment of patients with traumatic brain injury (TBI). They show that with regard to the surgical management of acute epidural hematomas, acute subdural

Robust Unsupervised Transient Detection With Invariant Representation based on the Scattering Network [PDF]
We present a sparse and invariant representation with low asymptotic complexity for robust unsupervised transient and onset zone detection in noisy environments. This unsupervised approach is based on wavelet transforms and leverages the scattering network from Mallat et al. by deriving frequency invariance.
