Tonsillopharyngitis can be defined as a condition in which the pharynx and/or palatine tonsils become acutely infected and is accompanied by sore throat, difficulty swallowing, pyrexia and lymphadenopathy in the cervical region. It can be diagnosed clinically, diagnosis being confirmed microbiologically or via the rapid antigen test [1]. © The Editor(s)
