Evaluation of toxicity studies of Sesbania grandiflora leaves extracts in Wistar albino rats

open access: yesJournal of Applied Pharmaceutical Research
Objective: Sesbania grandiflora is a well-known medicinal plant belonging to the family Fabaceae, and it is used to treat several disorders. The current investigation aims to analyze the negative consequences of short and long-term administration of ...

Determination of Silver Binding to Natural Organic Matter Using Ion Selective Electrode [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Natural organic matter (NOM) is considered an important factor in the protection of the aquatic environments; organic ligands can complex with metals, to decrease their toxicity and bioavailability. NOM is measured as dissolved organic carbon (DOC) in mg

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

The impact of climate change on aquatic risk from agricultural pesticides in the US [PDF]

open access: yes
Agricultural pesticides have adverse impacts on water quality and aquatic species. These impacts are sensitive to climate because pest pressure and corresponding pesticide application rates vary with weather and climate conditions.

Phase I study of dose escalation to dominant intraprostatic lesions using high-dose-rate brachytherapy. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
PurposeRadiation dose escalation for prostate cancer improves biochemical control but is limited by toxicity. Magnetic resonance spectroscopic imaging (MRSI) can define dominant intraprostatic lesions (DIL).

Differential expression of cancer‐related genes supports prediction of poor response to first‐line treatments in T‐ALL pediatric patients with high minimal residual disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the present work, we have identified a transcriptional signature based on the differential expression of six genes (BCL2&MAST4, HSH2D&LAT2, METRN&PITPNM2) that would facilitate the early detection of T‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T‐ALL) patients prone to a poor treatment response and could be implemented at diagnosis, along with other risk ...

The acute toxicity of 5-thio-substituted 3-(5-bromofuran-2-yl)-4-ethyl-(4H)-1,2,4-triazole derivatives

open access: yesAktualʹnì Pitannâ Farmacevtičnoï ì Medičnoï Nauki ta Praktiki, 2015
Aim. Research of the acute toxicity of new compounds could prevent the development of compounds with high pharmacological activity, which exhibit undesirable pharmacological properties.

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.
