Mobile ad hoc networks are a type of mobile network that functions without any fixed infrastructure. This new mobility context is highly dynamic. One of the weaknesses of ad hoc networks is node configuration. The configuration issue in MANET consists in assigning IP addresses to mobile nodes and dealing with the dynamic behavior of the network.

Routing Update in Ad Hoc Networks

Contrary to cellular networks, ad-hoc networks are a form of mobile networks that function without any fixed infrastructure. This paper proposes a method which improves routing success rates in mobile ad hoc networks. This method is based on the density of the nodes in the neighborhood of a route and on the availability of this neighborhood.
