Human resource allocation management in multiple projects using sociometric techniques [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
This article describes a new application of key psychological concepts in the area of Sociometry for the selection of workers within organizations in which projects are developed. The project manager can use a new procedure to determine which individuals

Intein‐based modular chimeric antigen receptor platform for specific CD19/CD20 co‐targeting

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CARtein is a modular CAR platform that uses split inteins to splice antigen‐recognition modules onto a universal signaling backbone, enabling precise, scarless assembly without re‐engineering signaling domains. Deployed here against CD19 and CD20 in B‐cell malignancies, the design supports flexible multi‐antigen targeting to boost T‐cell activation and

Distinguishability in Entropy Calculations: Chemical Reactions, Conformational and Residual Entropy

open access: yesEntropy, 2011
By analyzing different examples of practical entropy calculations and using concepts such as conformational and residual entropies, I show herein that experimental calorimetric entropies of single molecules can be theoretically reproduced considering ...

ATF4‐mediated stress response as a therapeutic vulnerability in chordoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We screened 5 chordoma cell lines against 100+ inhibitors of epigenetic and metabolic pathways and kinases and identified halofuginone, a tRNA synthetase inhibitor. Mechanistically halofuginone induces an integrated stress response, with eIF2alpha phosphorylation, activation of ATF4 and its target genes CHOP, ASNS, INHBE leading to cell death ...

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

An Offline Roadside Unit ON-OFF Scheduling Algorithm for Energy Efficiency of Ad Hoc Networks

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
This paper considers the off-line roadside unit (RSU) ON/OFF scheduling problem in a sparse vehicular ad hoc network (VANET). We formulate the problem as a mixed integer non-linear programming problem and propose a heuristic scheduling algorithm called ...

Crucial parameters for precise copy number variation detection in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded solid cancer samples

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that copy number variations (CNVs) can be reliably detected in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded (FFPE) solid cancer samples using ultra‐low‐pass whole‐genome sequencing, provided that key (pre)‐analytical parameters are optimized.

The adjective “ unique”

open access: yesIbérica, 2020
This paper examines the role of the adjective “unique” in car manufacturers’ websites. The presence of adjectives is generally acknowledged to be a significant feature of advertising texts; however, analyses often focus on issues relating to the ...

The German National Flood Protection Programme: Evaluating the impact of supraregional flood protection measures on extreme floods using hydrodynamic modelling

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2018
After the disastrous flood events of June 2013 in the German Elbe and Danube catchments, the German government together with the federal states decided on the joint elaboration of a nationwide flood protection programme (NHWSP, 2015-2027+).
