Stimulating Cooperation in Self-Organized Vehicular Networks
A Vehicular Ad-hoc NETwork (VANET) is a special form of Mobile Ad-hoc Network designed to provide communications among nearby vehicles and between vehicles and nearby fixed roadside equipment. Its main goal is to improve safety and comfort for passengers,

Hypoxia promotes the epithelial‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) of renal tubular epithelial cells via the SIRT1‐FoxO1‐FoxO3‐autophagy pathway, thereby resulting in the fibrosis of renal tubular epithelial cells. Activation of SIRT1 or induction of autophagy inhibits this process, alleviating hypoxia‐induced fibrosis.

Mechanisms of De‐icing by Surface Rayleigh and Plate Lamb Acoustic Waves
Ice accretion impacts daily life, renewable energy generation, maintenance, and security in industries and aeronautics. Acoustic waves (AW) are a promising method for ice removal, although de‐icing mechanisms require further investigation to optimize energy efficiency.

Cross-Layer Methods for Ad Hoc Networks—Review and Classification
The OSI model used to be a common network model for years. In the case of ad hoc networks with dynamic topology and difficult radio communications conditions, gradual departure is happening from the classical kind of OSI network model with a clear ...

Performance Analysis of mmWave Ad Hoc Networks [PDF]
Ad hoc networks provide an on-demand, infrastructure-free means to communicate between soldiers in war zones, aid workers in disaster areas, or consumers in device-to-device (D2D) applications. Unfortunately, ad hoc networks are limited by interference due to nearby transmissions.

3D Bioprinting of Thick Adipose Tissues with Integrated Vascular Hierarchies
An advanced 3D bioprinting technique is used here to create thick adipose tissues with a central, vessel and extensive branching. The construct is made using alginate, gelatin and collagen‐based bioinks. Flow through the complex vessel network is demonstrated as well as its successful integration with a femoral artery following implantation in a rat ...

On the capacity of mobile ad hoc networks with delay constraints [PDF]
Previous work on ad hoc network capacity has focused primarily on source-destination throughput requirements for different models and transmission scenarios, with an emphasis on delay tolerant applications. In such problems, network capacity enhancement is achieved as a tradeoff with transmission delay.

Proof-of-Concept Implementation of the Ahoy Discovery Protocol for Ad-hoc Networks [PDF]
The context discovery protocol Ahoy has been proposed ear- lier for resource-limited fully-distributed ad-hoc networks. Ahoy has been proven as an efficient context discovery pro- tocol, which generates only little network traffic, in both static and ...
