Optical Mapping Near-eye Three-dimensional Display with Correct Focus Cues [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We present an optical mapping near-eye (OMNI) three-dimensional display method for wearable devices. By dividing a display screen into different sub-panels and optically mapping them to various depths, we create a multiplane volumetric image with correct focus cues for depth perception.

NITEC: Versatile Hand-Annotated Eye Contact Dataset for Ego-Vision Interaction [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
Eye contact is a crucial non-verbal interaction modality and plays an important role in our everyday social life. While humans are very sensitive to eye contact, the capabilities of machines to capture a person's gaze are still mediocre. We tackle this challenge and present NITEC, a hand-annotated eye contact dataset for ego-vision interaction.

Visual space constructed by saccade motor maps

open access: yesFrontiers in Human Neuroscience, 2016
How visual space is represented in the brain is an open question in neuroscience. Embodiment theories propose that spatial perception is structured by neural motor maps.

Morphology of adaptation and morphogenesis in stomatopod eyes [PDF]

open access: yesItalian Journal of Zoology, 2007
Ommatidia of eyes of stomatopods change with adaptation to light or dark. With dark adaptation the crystalline cones shorten and the retina becomes longer. This is due to contractions of myofibrils in veils surrounding the cones, while microtubules within the accessory pigment cells maintain the cytoarchitecture of the ommatidia.

Retinal adaptation of Japanese common squid (Todarodes pacificus Steenstrup) to light changes [PDF]

open access: yes, 1985
The response of retinae of the Japanese common squid (Todarodes pacificus Steenstrup) was recorded in relation to various light intensities. In the light-adapted eye of common squid, the black pigment ascends to the external limiting membrance of the ...

Producing high quality cranial SRS plans with 4Pi planning technique in a commercial clinical solution

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose To generate high‐quality stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) plans for single cranial lesions using 4Pi planning technique and compare these to our clinical “status quo” plans. Methods Eighteen vestibular schwannoma (VS) patients previously planned with Varian Eclipse RapidArc and treated on a Varian TrueBeam using 6FFF MV photon beams ...

Considerations for Eye Tracking Experiments in Information Retrieval [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
In this survey I discuss ophthalmic neurophysiology and the experimental considerations that must be made to reduce possible noise in an eye-tracking data stream. I also review the history, experiments, technological benefits and limitations of eye-tracking within the information retrieval field.

Deducing self-interaction in eye movement data using sequential spatial point processes [PDF]

open access: yesSpatial Statistics 17 (2016) 1-21, 2015
Eye movement data are outputs of an analyser tracking the gaze when a person is inspecting a scene. These kind of data are of increasing importance in scientific research as well as in applications, e.g. in marketing and man-machine interface planning. Thus the new areas of application call for advanced analysis tools.
