Analysis of Adaptive Reasoning Ability in Middle School Students Mathematics Learning

open access: yesJurnal Pendidikan Matematika (JPM)
Mathematics is one of the subjects taught in formal educational institutions, which is an important part of efforts to improve the quality of education. Students' adaptive reasoning ability in mathematics is reflected through their critical, logical, and

ABL kinase‐dependent phosphorylation of SH proteins promotes their direct interaction with CRK family SH2 domains

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
CT10 regulator of kinase (CRK) and CRK‐Like (CRKL) are signaling adaptors driving cell adhesion, motility, differentiation, and proliferation. SH2‐domain containing (SH) proteins are enriched in YXXP motifs which when phosphorylated create preferred binding sites for CRK family SH2 domains.

Guidance on the Assessment and Diagnosis of Intellectual Disabilities in Adulthood: Getting there but still some way to go

open access: yes, 2015
The new BPS Guidance on the Assessment and Diagnosis of Intellectual Disabilities in Adulthood are reviewed. It is argued that the continuation of IQ cutoff points and the introduction of adaptive behaviour cut off points are not justified if current ...

Mixed‐class J‐domain protein scaffolds promote expanded aggregate handling and multivalent Hsp70 engagement during functional disaggregase assembly

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein aggregates threaten proteostasis and cell health. In human cells, Hsp70–J‐domain protein‐based disaggregases remove aggregates, but how they assemble remains unclear. Our biochemical findings show that DNAJA2‐ and DNAJB1‐containing disaggregase scaffolds enhance luciferase aggregate targeting, and that Hsp70 recruitment by both J‐domain ...

bit more on the ability of adaptation of speech signals

open access: yesRevista Facultad de Ingeniería Universidad de Antioquia, 2013
Some traditional digital signal processing techniques encompass enhancement, filtering, coding, compression, detection and recognition. Recently, it has been presented a new hypothesis of signal processing known as the ability of adaptation of speech signals: an original speech signal may sound similar to a target speech signal if a relocation process ...

Evolving dispersal ability causes rapid adaptive radiation

open access: yesScientific Reports
Despite a long history of research since Darwin, the mechanism underlying rapid adaptive radiation remains poorly understood. All theories constructed to date require special assumptions, so none can comprehensively explain actual cases found in wide ...

Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...

Manual and automatic authoring for adaptive hypermedia [PDF]

open access: yes
Adaptive Hypermedia allows online content to be tailored specifically to the needs of the user. This is particularly valuable in educational systems, where a student might benefit from a learning experience which only displays (or recommends) content ...
