Towards Adaptable and Adaptive Policy-Free Middleware [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We believe that to fully support adaptive distributed applications, middleware must itself be adaptable, adaptive and policy-free. In this paper we present a new language-independent adaptable and adaptive policy framework suitable for integration in a ...

Multistage Adaptive Estimation of Sparse Signals

open access: yes, 2013
This paper considers sequential adaptive estimation of sparse signals under a constraint on the total sensing effort. The advantage of adaptivity in this context is the ability to focus more resources on regions of space where signal components exist ...

Design of a Novel Antenna Array Beamformer Using Neural Networks Trained by Modified Adaptive Dispersion Invasive Weed Optimization Based Data [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
A new antenna array beamformer based on neural networks (NNs) is presented. The NN training is performed by using optimized data sets extracted by a novel Invasive Weed Optimization (IWO) variant called Modified Adaptive Dispersion IWO (MADIWO).

Identity Adaptation is Mediated and Moderated by Visualisation Ability [PDF]

open access: yesPerception, 2008
Depending on the previous research one reads, face aftereffects may or may not partially transfer across viewpoints. Two experiments are reported that explore this face-identity aftereffect by varying the adaptor type. Adaptation occurs when different views of the identity are used and even when the person's name is the adaptor.

CPX‐351 in High‐Risk Relapsed Pediatric Acute Leukemia: Real‐World Phase 1 Data Establishing the FDA‐Approved Dose

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background/Objectives Outcomes for pediatric relapsed/refractory (R/R) acute myeloid leukemia (AML) remain dismal. CPX‐351, a liposomal formulation of cytarabine and daunorubicin, may have less off‐target toxicities than traditional chemotherapies and has shown improved outcomes for adults with newly diagnosed therapy‐related AML.

Adaptation and Resilience of Interdependent Infrastructure Systems: a Complex Systems Perspective [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The effects of disruption upon one or more components in interdependent infrastructure systems and the ability of the system to return to normal operations, is investigated in this paper. This addresses the concept of resilience, and examines the trade-

Revealing the structure of land plant photosystem II: the journey from negative‐stain EM to cryo‐EM

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Advances in cryo‐EM have revealed the detailed structure of Photosystem II, a key protein complex driving photosynthesis. This review traces the journey from early low‐resolution images to high‐resolution models, highlighting how these discoveries deepen our understanding of light harvesting and energy conversion in plants.
