DOA-based adaptive array antenna testbed system

Proceedings of the 16th International Symposium on Power Semiconductor Devices & IC's, 2004
At a cellular radio base station, adaptive array antenna technology, exploiting spatial domain filtering with antenna array and digital signal processing, can combat cochannel interference (CCI), thus the system capacity can be increased. Adaptive array antenna algorithms usually need, in advance, the directions of arrival (DOAs) of the desired and ...

Adaptive low profile array antennas for smart car antenna systems

IEEE VTS 53rd Vehicular Technology Conference, Spring 2001. Proceedings (Cat. No.01CH37202), 2002
This paper presents a new type of mobile phone vehicle antenna, which is implemented as a phased array of multiple short antennas. Therefore highly efficient low profile antennas with vertical dimensions less than a quarter wavelength can be realized.

Adaptive antenna arrays for cellular CDMA communication systems

1995 International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2002
The use of an adaptive antenna array at the base station in the reverse link of cellular communication systems is proposed. Two kinds of adaptive methods are considered. First, the recursive least squares (RLS) algorithm, which is a reference signal based method, is used to adjust the weight coefficients of the array.

A blind adaptive antenna array for CDMA systems

Conference Record of The Twenty-Ninth Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems and Computers, 2002
The performance of receivers for direct sequence spread spectrum systems in multi-path fading environments can be enhanced by using an antenna array which provide spatial diversity and selectivity. In this paper a blind adaptive antenna array, designed to work under multi-path environments, for spread spectrum systems is proposed.

Compact Reconfigurable Antenna Array for Adaptive MIMO Systems

IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters, 2009
Reconfigurable antenna arrays increase the flexibility of adaptive multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) systems by their reconfigurable configurations and radiation/polarization properties. In this letter, a compact reconfigurable antenna array operating in the UMTS band is proposed.

Adaptive flexible antenna array system for deformable wing surfaces

2015 IEEE Aerospace Conference, 2015
A 4×1 coplanar and flexible antenna array for deformable surfaces is studied under different bending angles. It is assumed that the array is bent from one edge on top of an insulating cylinder (single-edge cylindrical bending). Due to flexing, the array radiates a tilted main beam.

The implementation of a broadband adaptive array antenna system

International Conference on Communication Technology Proceedings, 2003. ICCT 2003., 2004
A broadband adaptive array antenna system was built in lab to check the signal processing algorithm. The antenna element, the RF receiving module and the digital processing unit are presented step by step. Especially for the signal processing, both the hardware platform and the software algorithm are researched together.

The active adaptive antenna array system

IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 1963
The active adaptive antenna array system (AAAAS) is a self-focusing antenna array. Phase-lock loop-type circuits are used to automatically adjust the phases of signals received on the elemental antennas of the array so that the received signals can all be added in phase or coherently.

Adaptive antenna arrays for OFDM systems with cochannel interference

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1999
Orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) is one of the promising techniques for future mobile wireless data systems. For OFDM systems with cochannel interference, adaptive antenna arrays can be used for interference suppression. This paper focuses on a key issue for adaptive antenna arrays, that is, parameter estimation for the minimum mean ...
