Adaptive Single-Pole Auto-Reclosing Scheme for Hybrid MMC-HVDC Systems
IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, 2019After the isolation of a single pole-to-ground fault, the adaptive auto-reclosing concept in high-voltage dc (HVDC) systems is difficult to be applied due to little coupling between the poles. With fault ride through capability, the hybrid modular mult-ilevel converter (MMC) can be advantageous for future HVDC projects.

A novel adaptive auto-reclosing scheme for transmission lines with shunt reactors
Electric Power Systems Research, 2019Abstract In this paper, a novel adaptive single-phase auto-reclosing method for high voltage transmission lines with shunt reactors is presented. The proposed method applies a low-pass filter and the cascaded delayed signal cancellation (CDSC) technique to the fault phase voltage in order to reveal different characteristics between transient and ...

Abstract This study describes the hardware implementation of a fast adaptive single-phase auto reclosing algorithm based on voltage harmonic content measurement. The proposed algorithm classifies the fault type, preventing reclosing onto permanent fault, and identifies the arc extinction instant, adjusting dead-time to implement reclosing with ...

This paper presents a new concept, based on variable dead time control, in adaptive single pole auto-reclosing (SPAR). The proposed scheme can give rise to a high rate of successful reclosing by adapting to variable dead times. The significance of this algorithm is that it uses the waveform patterns of the voltage transients following initial breaker ...

Abstract This paper proposes two anti-interference adaptive single-phase auto-reclosing (ASPAR) schemes for transmission lines with shunt reactors. This approach is based on faulty phase reactive power characteristics. Instantaneous power algorithm (IPA) is used to calculate the reactive power using voltage and current measurements at only one end of

A wavelet packet based method for adaptive single-pole auto-reclosing
Journal of Zhejiang University SCIENCE C, 2010We present a new algorithm for adaptive single-pole auto-reclosing of power transmission lines using wavelet packet transform. The db8 wavelet packet decomposes the faulted phase voltage waveform to obtain the coefficients of the nodes 257, 259 to 262. An index is then defined from the sum of the energy coefficients of these nodes.

Adaptive Comprehensive Auto-Reclosing Scheme for Shunt Reactor-Compensated Transmission Lines
IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, 2019After a tripping of a transmission line, if the fault is transient, faulty arc may be extinguished in three different kind of periods: initial, middle and ending period. Existing adaptive auto-reclosing (AAR) schemes cannot cover all kind of situations, which seriously affects application of those AAR schemes.

High speed adaptive auto reclosing of 765 kV transmission lines
2012 11th International Conference on Environment and Electrical Engineering, 2012This paper proposes a new adaptive auto reclosing scheme for extra high voltage transmission lines. The performance of an auto reclosing scheme depends not only on power system behavior and transmission lines characteristic but also secondary arc current.
