Adaptive Signal Processing for Adaptive Control

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1983
A few of the well established methods of adaptive signal processing are modified and extended for application to adaptive control. An unknown plant will track an input command signal if the plant is preceded by a controller whose transfer function approximates the inverse of the plant transfer function.

ADAPTIVE CONTROL SUPERVISION

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1994
Abstract To find a suitable combination of control and parameter estimation algorithms in adaptive control schemes is not an easy task. Moreover, some requirements on the algorithms and the operating conditions must be fullfilled. Students must experience these difficuties.

Adaptive control of PDEs

Annual Reviews in Control, 2007
Abstract This paper presents several recently developed techniques for adaptive control of PDE systems. Three different design methods are employed—the Lyapunov design, the passivity-based design, and the swapping design. The basic ideas for each design are introduced through benchmark plants with constant unknown coefficients.

Adaptation Control in Adaptive Hypermedia Systems

2000
A hypermedia application offers its users a lot of freedom to navigate through a large hyperspace, described by a domain model. Adaptive hypermedia systems (AHS) aim at overcoming possible navigation and comprehension problems by providing adaptive navigation support and adaptive content. The adaptation is based on a user model that represents relevant

On the Adaptive Control of the Acrobot

2019 18th European Control Conference (ECC), 2019
The inverse dynamics of fully actuated mechanical systems with unknown physical parameters can be represented by linear combination of unknown constants and known time varying functions. This property, which allows the design of adaptive control for fully actuated mechanical systems, does not hold in general for underactuated mechanical systems, such ...

On adaptive VSS control

2011 International Conference on Machine Learning and Cybernetics, 2011
In the conventional adaptive control field, parameter tuning law based on σ-modification has been widely used to construct an adaptive controller. However, using the (σ-modification parameter tuning law, usually only the UUB stability can be attained for the adaptive control system.

Geometry of adaptive control

2001 European Control Conference (ECC), 2001
Two incompatible topologies appear in the study of adaptive systems: the graph topology in control design, and the coefficient topology in system identification. Their incompatibility is manifest in the stabilization problem of adaptive control. We argue that this problem can be approached by changing the geometry of the sets of control systems under ...
