Optimization of InGaN-based LED Package Structure for Automotive Adaptive Driving Beam Headlamp
ECS Journal of Solid State Science and Technology, 2020We investigated the luminance, thermal, and thermo-mechanical properties of vertical (V)-LED and flip-chip (FC)-LED packages with different white silicones for a vehicle head lamp application. The FC-LED package showed higher equivalent maximum stress than the V-LED package.

Adaptive Driving Beam - Visibility Improvement versus Glare
SAE Technical Paper Series, 2014<div class="section abstract"><div class="htmlview paragraph">Since 2012, adaptive driving beam (ADB) was homologated first in the ECE world (ECE 123). The idea behind is a camera based lighting system, which enables the driver to achieve at night nearly high beam visibility without glaring oncoming or proceeding vehicles and road users ...

Self-Certification Requirements for Adaptive Driving Beam Headlamps
SAE Technical Paper Series, 2017<div class="section abstract"><div class="htmlview paragraph">Vehicle certification requirements generally fall into 2 categories: self-certification and various forms of type approval. Self-certification requirements used in the United States under Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) regulations must be objective and measurable ...

Conventional LED matrix drivers for automotive Adaptive Driving Beam (ADB) headlighting drive a serial-connected LED matrix, hence resulting in two power-conversion stages, low power-efficiency, and large current ripples. This paper presents a monolithic parallel-connected LED matrix driver.
