Adaptive driving beam headlamps test repeatability assessment
2022This report describes an assessment of test procedure repeatability for an “adaptive driving beam” (ADB) compliance test procedure. This work is a portion of NHTSA’S efforts in support of a rulemaking activity initiated by a 2018 Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) [1] that proposed to revise FMVSS No. 108 to allow ADB headlighting systems as optional

Adaptive Driving Beam Headlighting Systems Rulemaking Support Testing
2022This report describes work conducted to support resolution of NPRM comments regarding a compliance test procedure for “adaptive driving beam” (ADB) headlighting systems. The work supports a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration rulemaking effort initiated by a 2018 notice of proposed rulemaking (NPRM) that proposed to allow ADB headlighting ...

Optimization of InGaN-based LED Package Structure for Automotive Adaptive Driving Beam Headlamp
ECS Journal of Solid State Science and Technology, 2020We investigated the luminance, thermal, and thermo-mechanical properties of vertical (V)-LED and flip-chip (FC)-LED packages with different white silicones for a vehicle head lamp application. The FC-LED package showed higher equivalent maximum stress than the V-LED package.

Adaptive Driving Beam - Visibility Improvement versus Glare
SAE Technical Paper Series, 2014<div class="section abstract"><div class="htmlview paragraph">Since 2012, adaptive driving beam (ADB) was homologated first in the ECE world (ECE 123). The idea behind is a camera based lighting system, which enables the driver to achieve at night nearly high beam visibility without glaring oncoming or proceeding vehicles and road users ...
