Modeling adaptive organizations
Proceedings International Conference on Multi Agent Systems (Cat. No.98EX160), 2002We present in this paper a model based on the notion of interaction to build adaptive organizations. Interaction models are used to provide an initial organizational structure to the system. Local assessment capacities are added to make agents adapt the structure according to their requirements.

The Adaptation Model of a Runtime Adaptable DBMS
2009Nowadays maintenance of database management systems (DBMSs) often requires offline operations for enhancement of functionality or security updates. This hampers the availability of the provided services and can cause undesirable implications. Therefore it is essential to minimize the downtime of DBMSs.

Modelling and Adapting to Context
Personal and Ubiquitous Computing, 2001One of the hardest points in context-aware applications is deciding what reactions a system has to a certain context. In this paper, we introduce an architecture used in two context-aware museum guides. We discuss how the context is modelled and we briefly present a rule-based mechanism to trigger system actions.

A model for an adaptive scheduler
Proceedings of the 1988 ACM sixteenth annual conference on Computer science - CSC '88, 1988This paper reports on the design of a model for an adaptive scheduler of an operating system. The model is based on an adaptive control loop system in which the system's performance quality is evaluated by an index of performance, defined here as the users dissatisfaction time.
