A group of modulation schemes for adaptive modulation

2008 11th IEEE Singapore International Conference on Communication Systems, 2008
Adaptive modulation increases the throughput of a wireless network by adjusting the modulation scheme to the channel status. To have more capacity and more flexibility in using adaptive modulation, our research attempts to find a group of modulation schemes, which includes M-QAM where the number of signal points is not a power of 2, as well as non ...

An adaptive modulation scheme in multicarrier modulation system

Proceedings 7th International Conference on Signal Processing, 2004. Proceedings. ICSP '04. 2004., 2005
An adaptive modulation scheme is applied in multicarrier modulation system to improve the system spectral efficiency along with unequal error protection (UEP) to meet the different quality of service (QoS) in transmitting data. Power control zone (PCZ) is employed to make the improvement of system performance in terms of average BER or BPS.

Adaptive modulation vs fixed modulation with deterministic interleaver

2015 Global Conference on Communication Technologies (GCCT), 2015
One of the prominent candidate of recent technology is OFDM-IDMA (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing Interleave Division Multiple Access). IDMA (Interleave Division Multiple Access) inherits most of the advantages of CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access).

Adaptive modulation system for liquid crystal phase modulator

Chinese Optics Letters, 2016
An adaptive modulation system for a liquid crystal (LC) phase modulator is demonstrated. The phase retardation may be modulated by resetting the driving voltage automatically by matching the measured and ideal transmittance of an LC cell sandwiched by crossed polarizers.

Concept of Adaptability in Space Modules

Journal of Aerospace Engineering, 1990
The space program is aiming towards the permanent use of space; to build and establish an orbital space station, a Moon base and depart to Mars and beyond. We must look after the total independency from the Earth's natural resources and work in the design of a modular space base in which each module is capable of duplicating one natural process, and ...

Performance of modulation‐level‐controlled adaptive modulation systems

Electronics and Communications in Japan (Part I: Communications), 1996
AbstractThe multivalued quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM), such as 16 QAM, is a very useful technique in land mobile communication since a high‐speed transmission can be realized without enlarging the transmission band. The technique has a problem, however, in that it is not robust against the decrease of the received signal level due to fading or ...

Platelet-mediated modulation of adaptive immunity

Seminars in Immunology, 2016
Besides being the main cellular effectors of hemostasis, platelets possess a plethora of intracellular mediators (e.g. cytokines, chemokines and antimicrobial molecules) as well as surface receptors (e.g. P-selectin, integrins, CD40L, intercellular adhesion molecule [ICAM]-2, junctional adhesion molecule [JAM]-A, CD44, Toll-like receptors, chemokine ...

Adaptive Pulse Width Modulation

2004
Many spacecraft attitude control systems use actuators that operate in an on-off mode; typical examples are the jet thrusters, for which the control amplitude cannot be modulated. Moreover, if we want to reduce the complexity of the devices that drive the actuators, as for example in the case of magnetic coils, the on-off input is the simplest signal ...
