ADAPTIVE OBSERVER-BASED SYNCHRONIZATION FOR COMMUNICATION
International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, 1999The problem of synchronizing two nonlinear systems (transmitter and receiver) is considered. A simple design of an adaptive observer for estimating the unknown parameters of the transmitter is proposed based on the design of quadratic Lyapunov function for the error system.

Adaptive notch filters are local adaptive observers
International Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, 2015SummarySeveral continuous‐time frequency estimators for a measured sinusoidal signal, which have been proposed in the literature, are reviewed, reinterpreted and compared both theoretically and by simulations. It is argued that adaptive notch filters are feedback algorithms that contain a local adaptive observer in the feedback loop.

The discrete adaptive observer
1974 IEEE Conference on Decision and Control including the 13th Symposium on Adaptive Processes, 1974This paper discusses the discrete version of the adaptive observer problem. First, a stable identification scheme for a linear discrete multivariable system when all its state variables are accessible is presented. The scheme is then extended to obtain stable identification laws for a single variable system using only input-output data.

Adaptation exerts a continuous influence on visual coding, altering both sensitivity and appearance whenever there is a change in the patterns of stimulation the observer is exposed to. These adaptive changes are thought to improve visual performance by optimizing both discrimination and recognition, but may take substantial time to fully adjust the

Nonlinear robust adaptive observers
Proceedings of 28th Southeastern Symposium on System Theory, 2002Extensions of a robust adaptive observer are presented for state reconstruction of nonlinear systems with uncertainty having unknown bounds. The observers use nonlinear gains which are continuously updated to guarantee a globally asymptotically convergent observation error.

Reduced-order adaptive observation with nonspecific adaptive law
IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 1990The robustness of adaptive observers whose order is less than that of the plant is addressed. It is shown that residuals (unmodeled states) with finite energy over a finite time interval, together with a definitely exciting plant input, are sufficient to insure ultimate boundedness of the parameter and state errors, regardless of the plant stability or

ADAPTIVE OBSERVER IMPLEMENTATION USING A MICROCOMPUTER
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1979Abstract The implementation of a Luenberger observer on an Intel MDS 800 microcomputer system is discussed. To counteract the effect of stochastic disturbances on the performance of the observer, adaptive filters are used for processing the observations of the output before utilizing them for state estimation.

Clinical Observations on Excessive Threshold Adaptation
Archives of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, 1958In 1955, Lierle and Reger 1 reported an unusual finding in connection with their extensive studies of threshold tracings obtained with the Bekesy-type audiometer. When subjects were asked simply to trace threshold for a fixed frequency over a 20-minute period, they found that the tracings remained relatively constant in two cases of end-organ lesion ...

Comparison Between Distributed Observer And Adaptive Distributed Observer
2018 8th International Conference on Electronics Information and Emergency Communication (ICEIEC), 2018This paper presents a comparison between distributed and adaptive distributed observer-based methods for the cooperative output regulation problem of linear multi agent systems. For the system involving the distributed observer, it is assumed that all the followers have access to system matrix from the leader system.

Adaptive visual-search model observers
2015 IEEE Nuclear Science Symposium and Medical Imaging Conference (NSS/MIC), 2015Realizing the full potential of task-based assessments as a research design tool calls for model observers that can be applied for a variety of clinically realistic tasks. However, existing statistical model observers are task-constrained by the need for extensive prior information.
