Agricultural adaptation: observations and insights

2014
It has been recognized for some time that the benefits of climate change mitigation efforts will come too late to avoid substantial impacts from expected changes in the climate. It has also been acknowledged that scientific uncertainties prevent a firm understanding of how the effects of climate change will be distributed across sectors and locations ...

Adaptive-Gain Observers and Applications

2007
We distinguish two kinds of observers for nonlinear systems which are used by scientists and engineers: empirical observers and converging observers.

Adaptive Observers for TS Systems

2010
Many processes change over time or due to the influence of unknown inputs that cannot be measured. In some cases, the change is considerable and may be due to the degradation of parts of the system, actuator faults, or disturbances that should be detected as soon as possible.

Adaptive observation with drifting platforms

2009
The BAMED (Balloons in the Mediterranean) project aims at developping in-situ drifting observing platforms onboard pressurized balloons to be deployed during HyMeX. HyMeX, known as "Hydrological cycle in the Mediterranean Experiment", is an international, multiscale and multidisciplinary experiment including an observing campaign to start in 2012.

Adaptive Observers for Nonlinear Systems

In this chapter, we consider the adaptive observer synthesis method for nonlinear dynamic systems (NDS) under uncertainty. The design introduces of two stages. The structural stage based on the application of geometric frameworks is allowed identifying of nonlinearity class and its structural parameters.
