VANET Based Adaptive Traffic Signal Control
2011 IEEE 73rd Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC Spring), 2011In urban scenarios traffic signal controls are the main mechanism to control vehicular flow at the intersections. However, traditional systems fail to adjust the timing pattern in accordance to the time variability. An alternative to such systems is to develop dynamic systems which will alter the timing patterns according to the traffic demand. In this

Adaptive signal-vehicle cooperative controlling system
2011 14th International IEEE Conference on Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITSC), 2011Reducing traveling delay by optimizing traffic signal schedules at intersection has long been under research. Similarly, many vehicle technologies have been applied to reduce fuel consumption and emission. One major source of fuel consumption and emission is the unnecessary stop-then-start cycles.

Adaptive Signal Control at Isolated Intersections
Journal of Transportation Engineering, 1988The effectiveness of conventional traffic-actuated control deteriorates rapidly as traffic volume increases. This problem can be alleviated through adaptive control. By monitoring vehicular movements an identifying the most likely short-term future flow patterns, adaptive control adjusts signal timings in an attempt to optimize signal operations.

[1988] Proceedings. The Twentieth Southeastern Symposium on System Theory, 2003
The authors design three different adaptive controllers for the same second-order plant example. Two of the controllers are contemporary nonlinear adaptive controllers designed by the methods of Narendra and Valavani (1978); and Morse (1987); the third controller is an all-linear, constant coefficient adaptive controller designed by Johnson's method ...

Load adaptive control for mixed-signal PFC control IC
2009 International Conference on Power Electronics and Drive Systems (PEDS), 2009This paper presents a mixed-signal power-factor-correction (PFC) control IC for the single-phase critical-conduction-mode (CRM) boost AC/DC converters. The peak current mode control is applied and analyzed by using the analog circuit. The voltage control loop is implemented in digital approach.

On maximally stabilizing adaptive traffic signal control
2013 51st Annual Allerton Conference on Communication, Control, and Computing (Allerton), 2013In this paper, we design adaptive traffic signal control policies for urban traffic networks. Vehicles at the end of an approach to an intersection queue up in separate lanes, with finite flow capacities, corresponding to different possible turn maneuvers according to static route choice behavior.

Flow-based multi-objective adaptive signal controller
2013 International Conference on Connected Vehicles and Expo (ICCVE), 2013This paper presents an adaptive traffic signal controller algorithm that allows real time traffic flow data to control traffic signal timing for an isolated intersection. The proposed design allows greater flexibility and control of signal timings while keeping in view multiple criterions.

Mixed-signal adaptive primary side power control
2021 International Semiconductor Conference (CAS), 2021In the offline AC-DC power conversion there is a race to make the devices cheaper and more reliable. This trend makes researchers and engineers to look more and more for primary side regulation, as it makes the converter simpler, with less parts and, most importantly, it increases safety of operation through primary and secondary isolation.

Iterative Learning Based Adaptive Traffic Signal Control
Journal of Transportation Systems Engineering and Information Technology, 2010Abstract Iterative learning control (ILC), as a branch of data-driven control, has obtained plentiful achievements both in theoretical research and practical application over the past two decades. Taking the traffic signal control system as a plant system, the paper introduces the idea of the ILC and fuzzy logic to design an adaptive data-driven ...

Integrated Adaptive-Signal Dynamic-Speed Control of Signalized Arterials
Journal of Transportation Engineering, 2002This paper demonstrates the feasibility of an advanced concept of traffic control for congested urban arterials in an intelligent transportation system (ITS) setting. The core idea of the new concept is to integrate the capability of dynamic adaptive signals with dynamically optimized time-dependent variable speed.
