Adaptive detection of the fetus ECG signal

Proceedings of the Nineteenth National Radio Science Conference, 2003
Extracting the fetal ECG signal from the composite maternal ECG signal obtained from abdominal leads is of great interest. The interfering maternal ECG signal is stronger than the fetal ECG one. Moreover, the background noise due to muscle activity and fetal motion strongly degrades the detection capability of the fetal ECG signal.

Low-Complexity Adaptive Signal Detection for Mobile Molecular Communication

IEEE Transactions on NanoBioscience, 2020
Currently, most of the researches in molecular communication (MC) domain focus on the static MC scenarios. However, some envisioned important MC applications require mobile MC system. The investigation on mobile MC, especially the signal detection of mobile MC is limited. This work considers the problem of signal detection for mobile MC scenarios where

Adaptive pitch detection system for voice signal

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1985
A system for detecting the pitch of a voice signal, in which a plurality of pitch searching periods are determined so that pitch components of multiple relationship are not included in each of the pitch searching periods, and in which after detecting a pitch searching period including the pitch from the pitch searching periods, the pitch searching ...

QNAR AGC systems for adaptive signal detection

IEEE Transactions on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 1983
In a previous paper we presented an NAR AGC system for regulation of noise power in presence of nonoverlapped signals and we showed its limitation in the case of overlapped signals. In this paper we consider the later case for which it is necessary to secure the NAR property all the time otherwise the receiver output will be attenuated. We show that it

Adaptive Detection of a Subspace Signal in Signal-Dependent Interference

IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 2017
This paper deals with the problem of adaptive detection of subspace signals embedded in thermal noise and clutter that depends on the transmitted signal. To this end, at the design stage, we assume that the signal-dependent (SD) clutter shares the same subspace as the target signals.

An adaptive CUSUM-based test for signal change detection

2006 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2006
Many applications, e.g., fault detection, quality of industrial process, monitoring and prediction of climatic phenomena assume the stationary hypothesis or require identification of the process change. Change detection tests satisfy the change detection necessity by identifying a drift, a different expected behavior, a deviation; their effectiveness ...

Advanced misfire detection using adaptive signal processing

International Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, 2004
AbstractThis article addresses the problem of internal combustion engine misfire detection. Specific attention is paid to misfire detection using crankshaft speed measurements. After an initial analysis of the problem, the applicability of advanced signal processing methods to its solution is discussed.

DWT Based Adaptive Threshold Determination in Embolic Signal Detection

Second NASA/ESA Conference on Adaptive Hardware and Systems (AHS 2007), 2007
Early and accurate detection of emboli is important for monitoring of preventive therapy in stroke-prone patients. An embolic signal caused by emboli can be detected by Doppler ultrasound. Embolic signals are highly non- stationary and last only for a short time. Advanced processing methods are required to distinguish these signals from Doppler signals
