Securing media for adaptive streaming [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the eleventh ACM international conference on Multimedia, 2003
This paper describes the ARMS system which enables secure and adaptive rich media streaming to a large-scale, heterogeneous client population. The secure streaming algorithms ensure end-to-end security while the content is adapted and streamed via intermediate, potentially untrusted servers.

LLL-CAdViSE: Live Low-Latency Cloud-Based Adaptive Video Streaming Evaluation Framework

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2023
Live media streaming is a challenging task by itself, and when it comes to use cases that define low-latency as a must, the complexity will rise multiple times.

Adaptive Preprocessing for Streaming Data [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering, 2014
Many supervised learning approaches that adapt to changes in data distribution over time (e.g., concept drift) have been developed. The majority of them assume that the data comes already preprocessed or that preprocessing is an integral part of a learning algorithm.

Quality of Experience Assessment for HTTP Based Adaptive Video Streaming

open access: yesAdvances in Electrical and Computer Engineering, 2023
The expected optimal outcome of users' video quality requirements should be the best Quality of Experience (QoE). Integrating and evaluating QoE in a video streaming system is a rather complex process that requires a comprehensive design of subjective ...

Edge Computing Assisted Adaptive Streaming Scheme for Mobile Networks

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
Various video streaming platforms are responsible for continuously generating a majority of Internet traffic. The promising solution for the smooth video streaming services is to use the HTTP adaptive streaming (HAS).

Adaptive Multi-Stream Relaying [PDF]

open access: yes2006 Canadian Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering, 2006
In this paper, we study a cooperative network with one source-destination pair and a relay assisting their communication. All terminals have multiple antennas, which enables them to transmit multiple streams simultaneously. Both the source and the relay use spatial multiplexing to transmit while the receivers at the relay and the destination are linear

Deep Reinforcement Learning-Based Approach for Video Streaming: Dynamic Adaptive Video Streaming over HTTP

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2023
Dynamic adaptive video streaming over HTTP (DASH) plays a crucial role in delivering video across networks. Traditional adaptive bitrate (ABR) algorithms adjust video segment quality based on network conditions and buffer occupancy.

Adaptive Normalization in Streaming Data [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 2019 3rd International Conference on Big Data Research, 2019
In todays digital era, data are everywhere from Internet of Things to health care or financial applications. This leads to potentially unbounded ever-growing Big data streams and it needs to be utilized effectively. Data normalization is an important preprocessing technique for data analytics.
